Lead-acid batteries are maintenance-free, long-lasting and economical energy sources used in many different fields. Whether as a backup battery for an uninterruptible power supply for computers and systems, as a power source for emergency lighting or to power golf buggies - lead-acid batteries can be found everywhere. ANSMANN offers the ideal charger for a wide range of applications with the ALCT 6-24/10.
The fully automatic charger is suitable for maintenance-free lead-acid batteries (lead-gel, lead-acid, lead-fleece) with 6, 12 or 24 volts. Once the terminal clamps have been successfully connected, the device automatically detects the output voltage of the connected lead-acid battery and indicates this via the corresponding LED. If the battery is deeply discharged, an automatic REFRESH mode restores the base voltage using pulsed charging currents, allowing the normal charging process to begin. Depending on the voltage, a charging current of 1, 5 or 10 amps can be selected, allowing car batteries to be charged very quickly, whilst small motorbike batteries can be charged very gently. If no setting is selected, charging takes place at the preset charging current of 1 amp. At low temperatures below 5°C, an optional COLD TEMPERATURE mode ensures that the lead-acid battery is fully charged to 100% despite the cold. A clear LED display provides accurate and reliable information on the selected settings and the charging progress (35-70-100%). Thanks to a special in-house charging process, the charger automatically switches to trickle charging once the battery is fully charged. This prevents the battery from being overcharged and means it can remain connected to the charger for extended periods. Batteries for motorbikes, motorboats, lawnmowers etc. will thus survive the winter well and be ready for use at any time when needed.
Designed for standby parallel operation, the ALCT 6-24/10 can remain connected to the battery continuously and keeps it fully charged at all times, even whilst the battery is being used/discharged at the same time. This ensures the battery is always available at full capacity. And should it ever run out of power, the ALCT 6-24/10 can even provide a jump-start.
For optimum operating safety, the lead charger is equipped with electronic protection against short circuits and reverse polarity. Thanks to its numerous features, the ALCT 6-24/10 ensures safe and gentle charging and guarantees optimum performance and a long service life for lead-acid batteries.
